Raz, Destin and I talk about the Weyburn Wind Turbine, a child getting bullied out of starting a secular group in North Carolina, a Katy Perry video and Michael Shermer's baloney detection kit.We also introduce a new segment I'm calling the Skeptical Geek, in which we talk about atheists and skeptics in comics and television. This time around it's all about Batman.

Here’s a link to the story - http://discoverweyburn.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=26033%3Awind-turbine-debate-continues&catid=15%3Alocal-news&Itemid=334&device=desktop

Here’s the video, the noise is pretty obviously not from the wind turbine

I can just feel the Christian love coming out in this situation.

The last news segment is about the Katy Perry video and I guess the question about whether we should be letting religious groups dictate what is allowed on television or not. It’s kind of a fluff piece but oh well.

  1. How reliable is the source?
  2. Does the source make similar claims
  3. Have the claims been verified by someone else?
  4. Does this fit with the way the world works?
  5. Has anyone tried to disprove the claim?
  6. Where does the preponderance of evidence point?
  7. Is the claimant playing by the rules of science?
  8. Is the claimant providing positive evidence?
  9. Does the new theory account for as many phenomena as the old theory?
  10. Are personal beliefs driving the claim?
